What’s On
We will be at the Phoenix Park Family Fun Day on Wednesday 31st May between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Storyteller Rebecca Dye will be gathering your stories about the local area as part of our ‘Picture Perfect?: The Dearne Community Story Trail’ art project and we will be selling story bags at £2 per bag to raise funds for this year’s festival. Each bag will contain a book and other stationery items designed to get your children’s creativity going!
This will be a great day out with lots of different agencies offering crafts, sports, cycling and story-telling experiences. Hermione Granger, Rapunzel and Snow White will be there to entertain; there will be lots of book costumes to wear, so come along as your favourite character and prepare to do our Story Book Trail to find the wooden books hidden in Phoenix Park.
Free to attend; bring your own picnic or buy refreshments on site. Portable toilets will be available.

Watch this space for creative events happening locally!
Don’t miss out on our fund-raising event ‘Goldthorpe By The Sea’ on Monday 19 August 2024 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Goldthorpe Pentecostal Community Church!
A fun day for all the family featuring sand, water play, craft activities, puppet show and other typical seaside activities, tickets cost £3 per person or £10 for a family of up to 5 people.

Goldthorpe By The Sea was a great fund-raising event, raising just over £350 towards the 2024 arts’ festival. We had 98 attend as we had our own seaside fun, with crafts, sand and water play and a bouncy castle! Funding from the Snap Tin Community Hub paid for a great lunch and we are grateful to bakers Bev Wassell, Lily Dorritt and Julie Turner for their cakes and to Sue’s Ices who came to give us that real seaside flavour of ice-cream and lollies!
