If you want to find out more about Goldthorpe and the ‘Picture Perfect?’ story trail featuring selfie boards in Goldthorpe, Thurnscoe and Bolton-on-Dearne, the newly developed Goldthorpe Town Square is probably the place to start!

Situated on the site of the former ‘Horse & Groom’ pub (one of the oldest in England), the town square has been developed thanks to funding from the Stronger Towns Fund as part of BMBC’s Principal Towns programme. DCAF has been involved in the creation of a map for the town square which highlights the location of all selfie boards (designed by cartographers Cosmographics Ltd) and the selfie board situated here is the start of your journey to find key locations in the area!

The Town Square and market was officially opened on 12 October 2023 by the Mayor of Barnsley and will hopefully be the site of an official selfie boards’ trail launch in the near future. Watch this space for more details!
