Local Creatives
We are grateful to all the local creatives who exhibit, lead workshops or perform at the Dearne Community Arts’ Festival. As you can imagine, over the years, we have formed a network of friends who are all creative in different ways. You can find out more about them on this page!
Shirley Swales
Shirley, a local resident, exhibits arts and crafts each year at the arts’ festival. Here are some examples of her creative work.

Angie’s Makes

Angie Wapples sells a variety of hand-made items, ranging from book cushions to advent calendars to children’s clothing.
Ruth Waterworth
Ruth Waterworth, a local art teacher working with adults, has been involved with DCAF since the beginning in 2017 and was heavily involved in our community art project in 2019, the creation of a community mosaic. She has led workshops on silk painting, needle felting and table shaft loom weaving, giving people the opportunity to learn new skills!

Julia Arts
Julia Harris has been our resident face painter since 2017 and even though she has now moved to North Yorkshire, she still supports the arts’ festival. Julia’s face painting and body art are truly works of art! You can find out more about her work at https://juliaarts.co.uk/
