We’re looking forward to the official launch of the Dearne Community Story Trial on Saturday 20th January at Goldthorpe Library between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. We’ll have face-painting, sand art, crafts and Lego to keep us occupied – and of course there will be a number of selfie boards there for people to see! Storyteller Rebecca Dye (who was involved in recording the stories of local groups and residents which can be heard via the DCAF website or via the QR codes on the boards) will be performing live at the library at 10.30 a.m. ‘The Cabinet of Curiosities’ is sure to enchant us all!

In addition, the Mayor of Barnsley will be coming to look at the trail, including the selfie board in the new Town Square next to the library.

Other selfie boards can be viewed at:

  • Guide/ Scout Hut on Lockwood Road (open between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and serving bacon butties and hot drinks!)
  • Goldthorpe Railway Embankment (open between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., with the opportunity to make photo frames out of natural materials and bird feeders)
  • Dearne Playhouse (open between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.)
  • Thurnscoe Library (open between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., with crafts and Lego available)
  • Thurnscoe Flower Park (outdoor selfie board)
  • Station House, Thurnscoe (outdoor selfie board)

Do come along to explore with our trail map and find out more about this great community art project.
